Tyre Range Surly tyres
are offered in 27 or 120 tpi (threads per inch) versions,
although not all combinations may be readily available. Some
models have folding versions as well. The 27 tpi tyre offer
a stiffer ride quality while 120 tpi tyres are more
flexible. Surly also offer a range of larger 4.8" tyres
primarily aimed at the Surly Moonlander but due clearance
issues with the Pugsley I've not included them here.
Surly offer dedicated inner tubes for their tyres. The
original has a wall thickness of 1.3 mm and weighs in at 570
grams. There is also a lighter version available with a
reduced wall thickness of 1.0mm, resulting in a weight of
450 grams. Extra wide rim strips to suit wider rims like the
Large Marge are also available from Surly.
Knard 26" x 3.8"
The Knard carries the same tread as the Knard 29 x 3˝ tire
designed for 29er bikes. Claimed as a "fast fat tire".
Available in120tpi casing and Kevlar folding bead.

Surly
Endomorph 3.7"
The Endomorph 3.7 is the original tyre from Surly
and comes in at 94mm wide (3.7") x 740mm tall (29") on Large
Marge rims. The Endomorph's tread was specifically designed
for soft conditions such as packed snow and sand.
Recommended are a rear tyre to match a Larry (see below) on
the front. Production of the Endomorph stopped in 2013.

Surly Larry 3.8"
Next tyre to come from Surly is the Larry.
Designed with a more aggressive tread pattern than the
Endomorph. This results in greater steering control in loose
and soft conditions and on firmer ground, without the
self-steer of the Endomorph. Larry is a great front tire to
Endomorph's rear, and a good all around tire for the
Pugsley.

Surly Nate 3.8"
More aggressive version of the Larry.

Surly Black Floyd 3.8"
The Black Floyd is designed for street and
hard-pack off-road conditions. It features a tightly packed
tread providing a smoother ride at higher tyre pressures.
